In order to identify wine we use 4 of our 5 senses. Sight to identify the clarity and color of the wine, touch to feel the weight of the wine, taste to determine the body, acidity and balance of the wine and most importantly smell. Don't get me wrong sight, touch, and taste are extremely important to the aspect of each individual wine, but most importantly is smell. Using our sense of smell allows us to further describe each varietal and bottle in more dept.By being able to identify individual aromas one can easily be able to recall the differences between wine varietals just by smell. By practicing playing the essence game one can more easily be able to recall upon different aromas commonly found in wine.
We have began to utilize our VIP room as our essence room. We have set it up to be a fun game where everyone gets at least an A-, just fun learning for everyone. Set up an appointment, bring some friends and play our essence game! And put your wine knowledgeand sniffer to the test! ~ Lucy
